Finally a Good Club

As group we all decided to go to a nice seafood restaurant Friday night and when Alice sat down she told us about how she had met some Turkish ex-pats she had met and we’re going to go out to some bars or clubs with tonight, the one catch being they were meeting up at 12:30. Any who we decided it sounded kinda sketchy, no matter how much Alice said it was fine, so myself, Andrew, Steph, and Annie decided to tag along, and boy are we glad we did.

Anyways I’ll get back to the glad part in a little bit. After being dropped off in a taxi on the road we were told, it was off to find the KFC (our meeting point). However I had a strange feeling of knowing where I was and yeppers I was right, we were right outside the Red Light district, :(, this was confirmed by the guys asking “Ping Pong show” and the sign that said Pat Pong Section #2. Anways we stayed away from that crowd and after searching for (the girls looking for the friends, me and Andrew in the front and back, of our group looking out for the girls) and then meeting up with the friends, we tried one “new” bar which was pretty lame.

On the way to the first place, I had passed a Irish Pub (and going to the pub one of the few things I miss from back home ohhh Irish Times and Lectriums and the others) and suggested we visit that establishment. Let’s just say Irish Pubs are similar but different there in Thailand, but all in all it was a good place to see a little bit of sports, drink some decent priced beers, and talk and learn about these Turkish brothers.

Anywhoo, to the good part, after the Pub kicked us out at 1 we went to and found a club the older brother knew about and after only a 100 BHT ($3) entrance fee and walking up the stairs, we were in to a place so packed it was hard to move. Eventually we made it to the back side of the room and could start dancing to the techno/Latin or middle eastern or something style dance music. And that is what we did, dance until like 3:30/4 in the morning, and till it was hard to move, and luckily as the night moved on the club thinned out just enough to have a little more space. This was some fun dancing too, different from what I’m used to back home, this was just all 7 of us in a circle(usually and with a lot more freedom then the other standard Thai clubs I’ve been to and do not enjoy) dancing have a good time, moving to the music, and having fun. Anyways, it was a good and exhausting night.

Also the room was pretty small almost like a standard upstairs in a apartment houses back in the US, but all open and kinda sand structure décor to it. The bar was the right size in the center of the room, nicely placed although none of us needed a bar, just music.
