Bayook Tower a Chill Place

After not being able to addventure here with my co-workers Jame and Kwang on monday we made sure that thursday was a sure bet. Eric, Jessie, and I all made it to the Victory Monument Sky Train Station, even if it be after a little run to try and make it by 9, although in Thai style we weren't joined until 9:25 and both me and Eric were out of baht-dollars on either of our phones to call out only in.

The Tower itself was really tall and as usual had some shops outside that we puruzed while waiting for Sheri to show up, a NC girl teaching in Thailand who volunteers at the BRCfor an hour on mondays. Though i will say that the prices in this market were significcantly better then most other markets as one of us was able to pick up a bag starting at 150 baht, were as else where it was like 800.

The tower itself is a little bit of a maze to get up as we needed to take an elevator up to the 17th then walk around to find the “really really fast” elevator to take us to the 73rd floor after we bought our tickets. This floor had some great photo ops and different miny museuem style stuff, like rereations of old style houses, a tuktuk and an old samlaw. All in all decent but since we were running out of time, we quickly made our way up to the observation deck on the 84th floor.

The Observation Deck was pretty much a huge spinning cage rotating around the top of the building. It was awsome though as it spun around, you could just sit there anf slowly look over all of bangkok.

The Bar down one story was pretty chill, and i will be back to visit it on occasion. It wasn't crowded and had huge comfortable chairs to just relax and in get lost in listening to the live band and peering out over bangkok. Usually, i'm slightly uncomfortablt with heights, not trusting human construction, but this was an exceptionally peacful place, sitting right next to the window.

Another cool part abot this bar was that Kwang and James knew the band and on their second set Kwang was able to get up and sing with the band which was really good. Duringh this i got everyoneup and started a dance party at 950 ft, even though all us guys were bad dancers. It was all a lot of fun that continued for a while and even this old guy at another table with what looked like hi kids in their late 20s/30s got up and was dancing. Kwang informed me at the end that no one dances there and we were the firt ones.
